If you’ve been on the hunt for the perfect sizzling summer read, then Talia Hibbert’s Take a Hint Dani Brown could be just the book for you.
I was excited to see what Hibbert had planned for us after her book Get a Life Chloe Brown and to discover the next chapter in the Brown sisters’ journey. Hibbert did not disappoint! She exceeded my expectations with a story that’s as much a thought-starter as it is captivating and as full of smart humor as it is heartwarming.

Take a Hint Dani Brown Summary
Take a Hint Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert is a sizzling romantic comedy featuring Ph.D. student Dani Brown and ex-rugby player Zafir Ansari. Dani, an ambitious career-driven woman, is on a quest for a stress-busting, no-strings-attached relationship, while romance is a no-go territory for her. Zafir, a security guard at Dani’s university, is a brooding romantic at heart, nursing a painful past and a secret crush on Dani.
A seemingly ordinary event of a botched fire drill becomes the starting point of their journey, as Zafir’s heroic rescue of Dani goes viral, turning them into an overnight internet sensation. Dani agrees to Zafir’s plea to play along with their suddenly public relationship to help his sports charity for kids gain attention.
Their initially faux relationship becomes a whirlwind of emotions as they navigate through their intense chemistry, Zafir’s romantic inclination, and Dani’s realistic approach toward relationships. As they fake their relationship in public while exploring their private connection, Dani and Zafir grapple with their vulnerabilities and insecurities.
As Dani navigates through this uncharted territory, she is forced to reconsider her beliefs and priorities. Amidst the chaos of internet fandom and personal issues, Dani and Zafir explore the depth of their relationship and confront their pasts.
My Review
Take a Hint Dani Brown is a witty, warm, and wonderfully nuanced story of love, self-discovery, and unexpected viral fame. Dani and Zafir are two complex characters whose story will pull on your heartstrings and keep you cheering for them from beginning to end.
As a fan of the first book in the series, Get a Life Chloe Brown, I was more than ready to jump into this next book. However, even without reading the first book, you’ll be entranced by the charm of the middle Brown sister, Dani. But both books are so good that you’ll probably want to read each.
What sets this book apart is its bold yet sensitive handling of topics that resonate with many today. Hibbert does a great job of addressing anxiety, showing its real-life impact on individuals and relationships in a thoughtful and detailed way.
One of the other themes in the story is the pressure of keeping up appearances on social media. It shows how trying to maintain a perfect online image can be tiring and even harmful, and it encourages being authentic and celebrating our less-than-perfect selves.
Moreover, Hibbert disruptively tackles the stereotype of toxic masculinity. Zafir, a former rugby player, explores his concept of manhood. His journey allows us to appreciate the beauty and strength of emotional openness and vulnerability, traits often suppressed by societal norms.
I found the romance between Dani and Zafir to be the kind that keeps you on your toes. Their witty banter, undeniable attraction, and the way they support each other’s goals and dreams are special.
Take a Hint, Dani Brown is a perfect pick for romance enthusiasts and anyone looking for a summer read. With Take a Hint, Dani Brown, you’re in for a delightful continuation of the Brown Sisters series. It’s a must-read for anyone who enjoys a heartfelt romance story that also brings a good dose of real-world issues.
